Customer Reviews of Beyond the Cliffs of Kerry-Book One of The Bold Women Series
--I would recommend this book to any one who likes to read about lots of adventure, strong characters, and interesting places and times in history. The book grabs your attention right away and never lets you go. Ms. Hughes' writing style reminds some what of Jean Auel. I have also read her other book and can't wait until #3 comes out!
--This book was just enthralling from the beginning. You get caught up in the story from the instant you open it, and it is hard to put down. Because of 'busyness' I would reluctantly put it down, only to anxiously pick it up again as soon as possible. I am excited to start 'The Pride of the King'. I love Ms Hughes style of writing, and the era it is written in.
--Read it in one night! I read this book in one night! I couldn't put it down. The imagery and the colorful characters made me feel as if I was a smuggler during one scene and a helpless prisoner of the Irish famine the next! The descriptions were so tangible that I felt I was right beside the adventurous Darcy McBride. I look forward to reading this novel again to experience this mysterious and captivating novel. It was quite a ride! Must read!
--Stunning!! As with both other of Amanda's books, I finished reading it saddened that the story had to end!! I love being able to be swept into the past, lost in the pages of my new-found happy place. This is yet another of her books that enthralls the reader with vivid clarity of days sooooo long ago. I can almost smell the ocean from here in Minnesota.
